Terms of Service
Your Responsibility
By your act of using the services provided to you under the Peak 1 Rate Plan or the Peak Straight Rate Plan (Long Distance, Local Toll, Calling Card and Toll Free number services), you accept and agree to all terms and conditions of use established by Peak Communications. You also accept responsibility for all charges incurred for monthly recurring charges and telephone calls made from the telephone number(s) assigned to the Plan, including calls using your Calling Cards, whether or not you authorize the calls, until your service is cancelled, as described below (“Cancellation of Service”).
PIC Freeze
To fully utilize your new Peak 1 Rate Plan, you must verify that you don’t have carrier choice protection (also known as a “PIC Freeze”) on your telephone line(s) which will prevent us from activating the long distance portion of your plan. If you have a “PIC Freeze”, you need to have it removed. You can determine whether or not you have a “PIC Freeze”, and verify that the long distance portion of your plan is active, by calling 700.555.4141 from the telephone line(s) in question: if you hear “Thank you for choosing Qwest Communications” (our partner company), the long distance portion of your plan is active. If you hear any other message, call your local carrier’s customer service number shown on your bill and ask to have the “PIC Freeze” removed from your line(s) and to have Qwest (carrier # 432) assigned as your long distance carrier of choice.

Calling Cards
The Calling Cards provided to you are the property of Peak Communications and are not assignable or transferable. Should your card(s) become lost or stolen, please notify our Customer Service Center at 877.851.7325. You continue to be responsible for all charges incurred on the card(s) until you notify us.
Changes to Rates, Terms and Conditions Peak Communications reserves the right to change rates, terms and conditions, without notice, at any time. Material changes to service rates and Plan options will be posted on the Peak website at www.peakcomm.com at least 10 days before such changes are implemented. Peak, at its option, may also notify you of such changes by mail, telephone or newspaper advertisement. |
Cancellation of Service
Should you decide to cancel your Peak 1 Rate Plan (Long Distance, Local Toll, Calling Card and Toll Free number service), call our Customer Service Center at 877.851.7325 and request that your Peak 1 Rate Plan be cancelled and you will no longer incur the monthly recurring charge (MRC) associated with the Plan.
When you call us to cancel your plan, please be aware that you must then select another long distance provider; if you do not, you will be charged a non-preferred rate by our underlying provider, Qwest Communications, until you do. In addition, switching to another Long Distance/Local Toll provider will not automatically cancel the Calling Card and/or Toll Free number service portions of the plan, nor the MRC. Also be aware that depending on when you call to cancel your Plan, due to billing cycles, you may be charged a MRC for the month in which you cancel service.
Peak Communications reserves the right to block or cancel your service without notice, and for any reason, at any time. |
